The first day of the spring semester oversaw the unveiling of a giant bobcat sculpture resting on Cibolo Hall, the latest public art project at Texas State University and of the Texas State University System (TSUS) public art collection.
Texas State University was excited to share its new addition, which is located outside Cibolo Hall, the campus residential building. The university held a dedication for the larger-than-life sculpture on Monday afternoon.
A new bobcat sculpture, Local Habitat, from New York-based artist Matthew Mazzotta now greets students on top of the entrance to Cibolo Hall at TXST. The sculpture depicts a sleeping bobcat, referencing a playful rendition of TXST’s mascot to show that many animals inhabit urban, domestic spaces and to remind people of our shared homes and experiences.
Lamar State College Orange hosted a grand opening ceremony for the newly constructed Academic Building on Wednesday, November 6 at the campus in downtown Orange. Outside the front of the building is a lighted art piece created by R&R Studios.
