(BEAUMONT) – The Texas State University System Board of Regents today elected Alan L. Tinsley of Madisonville as chairman of the board, and Dionicio (Don) Flores of El Paso as vice chairman. The unanimous votes occurred during the board's quarterly meeting on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont.
Alan L. Tinsley, first appointed to the board in 2015, lives and works in Madisonville, where he owns his own law practice. He also owns and operates Landmark Title Company and Triple T Ranch, both in Madisonville. Tinsley holds Board Certifications in Tax Law and Probate and Estate Planning, specializing in business entities, real estate, oil and gas, contracts, and civil and commercial litigation. A distinguished alumnus of Sam Houston State University, Tinsley serves on various boards and committees and performs pro bono work to help those in his community. He has served as vice chairman of the board for the past two years.
Don Flores is a longtime journalist and newspaper executive. After retiring as vice president and editor of the El Paso Times in 2008, he formed Flores Media Consulting where he is a community outreach consultant and media specialist. Flores is a distinguished alumnus of Texas State University.
