(AUSTIN) - Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Texas State University student Matthew Russell to the Texas State University System Board of Regents. Russell, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in public administration at Texas State, will serve as the board's student regent effective June 1, 2013. The student regent is a non-voting member and serves a one-year term.
Russell is one of 10 students regents appointed by the governor to Texas' public university system governing boards. He will succeed current TSUS Student Regent Andrew Greenberg, a student at Lamar University.
