(AUSTIN) - Governor Rick Perry has appointed Andrew Greenberg to the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System for a one-year term as student regent. Greenberg, a political science and communication major at Lamar University, is one of 10 student regents appointed by the governor to serve as non-voting members of the governing boards of various public universities and university systems in Texas.
Greenberg replaces Ryan Bridges, who served as TSUS student regent for the 2011-12 term. Bridges will now serve as student representative to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Bridges is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and is pursuing his master's in business administration at SHSU.
